Mental Health

Our skilled clinicians guide clients in discovering their strengths, implementing their learned skills into daily life, and removing previous hurdles to wellness. Recovery Coaching/Adult & Adolescent Peer Support
- Whether you're striving toward recovery in either substance use disorders &/or mental health issues, we offer recovery coaching and peer support . Recovery coaching gives clients the insight and support of someone who has been in their position before. Peer support provides someone to hold you accountable with empathy and understanding. Our recovery coach and peer supports are committed to help you achieve your goals, while working alongside your clinician to help support you in this journey. They can help you turn that mountain into a molehill!
Physical & Behavioral Addictions
- Physical addictions are the most well-known. These are addictions to chemicals that are ingested or otherwise introduced into a person's system. Common physical addictions include: Alcohol, Amphetamines, Cocaine, Hallucinogens, Inhalants, Marijuana, Opioids, PCP, Prescription Drugs, and Tobacco.
- Behavioral addiction is defined as any situation where one allows ruminative thinking to throw oneself into compulsive behaviors/actions that produce fleeting emotions of satisfaction. The individual often becomes addicted to the pleasurable feelings that occur from these particular activities and begins to act obsessively on those habits. Common behavioral addictions include: Cell phone/computer usage, Exercise, Food, Gambling, Internet, Pornography, Seeking pain through self-harm, Sex, Shopping, Video games, Work.
Brainspotting/EMDR
- Brainspotting originates from EMDR, using "brain spots" triggered by the eyes, and has been proven to be an effective form of psychotherapy for PTSD & C-PTSD, helping clients process traumatic experiences/unpleasant memories.
- Requires an activated eye position with possible resource &/or expansion spots in addition to Involving somatic awareness (felt bodily sensations)
- Occurs harmoniously when attachment pathways associated with safety, support, and connection are activated by therapist attunement.
- Allows for emotional relief from past trauma(s) by generating a link to others, often processing them within one session since the subconscious mind naturally strives to release it.
- Concentrates on a specific memory, whereas EMDR concentrates on the brain networks associated with trauma.
- Focuses on the raw emotions of the amygdala, leaving the hippocampus (memory center) behind in the therapy process
Harbor House
We support our community partners, Harbor House being one of them. They provide a safe/sober living home for women who are on the road to recovery &/or experiencing homelessness. They have 22 beds in this beautiful Post Falls home with a community kitchen and living room. It’s conveniently located near several stores, bus stops, public library, and more.
